In a significant move to support Nigeria's development goals, the British High Commission has donated cutting-edge ICT equipment to the National Population Commission (NPC) to enhance its electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (e-CRVS) system.
At a handover ceremony held at the British High Commission office in Abuja, British Deputy High Commissioner Mrs. Gill Lever, OBE, presented the equipment to NPC Chairman Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, accompanied by the Director-General and Management Staff.
The donated equipment, includes laptops, printers, scanners, and portable MiFi devices, which will significantly enhance the Commission's data management capabilities and bolster its efforts to build a more robust and efficient e-CRVS system.
This donation underscores the UK's commitment to supporting Nigeria's development goals, particularly in the areas of data management and statistical capacity building. The e-CRVS initiative aims to improve the coverage, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of civil registration and vital statistics in Nigeria.
With this support, the NPC is poised to make significant strides in achieving its goals, and the British High Commission's contribution will play a crucial role in this success.
