Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra

As we journey towards the final stage of preparations to conduct the first digital and green Population and Housing Census in Nigeria that will provide the country with evidence-based demographic data for development planning, I wish to assure Nigerians and the international community that the National Population Commission is irrevocably committed to ensuring that everything about the 2023 Census is done rightly and professionally. We have the clear vision, commitment, and capacity to deliver on this historic mandate.

The methodology for the 2023 Census has been designed to produce not only accurate, reliable, and acceptable census data but also inclusive and user-friendly data that will be used by all segments of society for development planning and critical program interventions.

The Commission remains committed to the conduct of a credible and acceptable census that will be transformational, trans-generational, and meet international standards. In the 2023 Census, everyone will be counted once in the right way, at the right place and time, and for the benefit of all persons in Nigeria. No one will be left behind.

Therefore, I enjoin all Nigerians and other stakeholders to get involved, support the Commission, and present themselves to be counted in the 2023 Population and Housing Census.

You Count, Be Counted.
